Samuel has been racing mountain bikes for nearly half his life, and knows what it takes to succeed in cycling. Although the numbers are very important, Samuel's approach is to keep training fun while also making you as fast as possible.
Caleb believes a crucial part of training and racing is maintaining the balance of hard work and fun. His progression from a junior to a professional has given him an in-depth understanding of the application and execution of coaching. He strives to share that knowledge and help others discover their love of cycling.
I’m one who’s always loved being active, and from that came the competitive nature of trying lots of races and competitions. Since I have gotten coaching from JM Coaching, Joe has been able to help me set goals and find ways to achieve them no matter what the situation during the given time was and will present itself to be. Between cycling and the newfound sport of competitive stair running I took up a few years ago. Joe has been able to cater a plan to benefit me in both those sports to allow me to get to where I am in the sport of professional stair running and cycling.
My name is Dylan Zakrajsek, and I am an elite level road and cyclocross racer. I have had the pleasure to know and now be coached by Caleb Swartz. He is a great guy, knows what he is doing and very easy to talk to about everything. One of the nice things about having him as a coach is that he is also currently racing at a pro level. He is still learning and using those experiences to teach his athletes. I know I have definitely already benefited from him teaching me. A couple of the most important things that I was looking in a coach when I was looking for one was being in the “loop”, and by that I mean he is constantly making connections, he is willing to help me as much as possible, and he is staying on top of things and not falling behind. Caleb has done a very good job at doing all of those things. I also wanted someone that has and or is racing at a high level and can give me some pointers, as well as always being available(within reason that is). He has also been amazing at doing all of that. I have already been in the scenario where I am confused with a workout or just have a quick question about something, and I need an answer ASAP. He has been able to get back to me everytime very quick and helped me in any way that he can. Caleb is always willing to do whatever he can to get you to where you need to be. For example, In the cyclocross season I switched coaches to Caleb and he noticed that my base power was falling behind a little bit. So he acted fast and figured out a training plan for me that would get back on track. I ended up tackling some big goals thanks to Caleb such as getting to race in Europe with USAC, and getting a top 10 in the UCI Juniors 17-18 cyclocross nationals race as a first year. All in all, Caleb is a great coach and I would highly recommend him.
We would highly recommend Caleb for coaching to any serious junior bike racer. Caleb coached my 14yo son last season and they worked together very effectively 1:1 in setting season goals and training plans. Caleb was always super responsive when family or school conflicts came up, and also in making adjustments based on responses to training load. Caleb has a low stress approach and is careful about not overloading with too much intensity, which I think is ideal for juniors in order to avoid burnout. It’s great that Caleb was a junior racer not very long ago and he related very well with my son. It was also great meeting with Caleb at our local cyclocross races for quick chats when needed.
